IDEX
2007 -
18-22 February 2007
Abu Dhabi, UAE –
IDEX 2007 is one
of the largest defence exhibitions in the world
catering to Land, Sea and Ground-to-Air Defence
Systems and Equipment. IDEX 2007 will be held
from 18-22 February 2007 in Abu Dhabi, UAE at
the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition &
Conference
Centre. It will incorporate a day-long
Conference, which is regarded in international
academic and military circles as a top forum on
defence strategies and technologies.
IDEX is the
premier tri-services defence exhibition in the
Middle East and one of the largest in the world.
IDEX 2007 will be taking place from 18-22
February 2007.
IDEX 2007 is already shaping up to be larger in
terms of display area and numbers of attendees
than previous editions. But perhaps more
importantly, IDEX has developed a reputation as
a must-attend event. It is an indispensable
source of comprehensive information that is
vital to defence industry strategists, planners
and analysts at all levels. IDEX continues to
focus on the newest research, trends in
technologies and systems that are of key
interest to the military and government
procurement communities around the world.
A delegation of
senior officials from the Abu Dhabi
National Exhibitions Company - Abu Dhabi
(ADNEC-AD) has attended the prestigious
Defence Systems & Equipment International
Exhibition & Conference, being held in London.
There is close
cooperation between the organisers of all three
major defence shows, each of which serves as a
geographical focal point for regional defence
industries, as well as for buyers of defence
equipment. Many of the same companies and
nations attend all three events. As part of the
ADNEC-AD international marketing plan, a
delegation attends in order to discuss specific
space requirements with existing exhibitors, as
well as to attract interest on the part of
potential new exhibitors.
A spokesperson for the delegation said, ''the
rise in oil prices and ongoing
instability in several countries in proximity to
the Middle East continues to focus international
attention on Middle Eastern events. This is
having an effect on IDEX 2007 bookings—already
the show is 70 per cent booked—as military
strategists consider
the implications
of ongoing geopolitical events and continue to
build up their defence capabilities.'' ''The
high degree of interest expected in IDEX 2007
during the London show is indicative of the
importance of the event in the world defence
markets,'' the spokesperson added.
