Event showcases over 12-15 universities and other institutions
in Dubai & Abu Dhabi
Swiss education fair in Abu Dhabi on
March 6-7 in Abu Dhabi, 8-9 in Dubai
NEARLY 12-15 Swiss universities, boarding schools, hotel management schools, finishing schools, and summer camps
have participated in the
5th Swiss Education Fair, held in Abu Dhabi on March
6-7, between 10am and 1pm and again from 5pm to 9pm at the Abu Dhabi Cultural
Foundation and also in Dubai on March 8th and 9th at the
Movenpick Hotel between 5pm and 9pm.
The exhibition was opened at the Cultural Foundation at 11
am by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Briefing newsmen on
Sunday, that this was a follow-up on last year's event, which was well-received and was being held to present the tradition of excellence of the Swiss educational services, and their diversity. The fair would also emphasise the unique environment Switzerland offers to foreign students
both high quality educational programmes, top security, first class health facilities and the advantages of living in a multicultural and friendly country.

2005 year's participants were five hotel management schools, two finishing schools,
two universities, and five primary and secondary schools. Participants include International Hotel Management Institute,
DCT International Hotel & Business Management School, Hotel Institute Montreux, Hotel Management School and Glion Institute for Higher Educations - Montreux (all hotel management institutes); Finishing schools including Institut Villa Pierrefeu - Glion, and Surval Mont-Fleuri -
Montreux; Universities such as European University and University of
Geneve; and schools including Leysin American School,
Institut monte Rosa, and Les Elfes Verbier SA.

The Organisers noted that Swiss education in the UAE was just beginning to be promoted actively, and he underlined the importance that Switzerland places on foreign students. Nearly 50 to 100 students from the UAE travel to Switzerland annually for their higher studies or to continue their education,
the Spokesman added.
