Tom Beyer, President of UFI, the
Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has
officially opened the Middle East/Africa Regional Office
today with its Platinum Partner ADNEC for the five year period,
2005-2010.
The support provided by the Abu Dhabi authorities will enable
UFI to support the development of the exhibition industry in the
region.
The Africa/Middle East Office is UFI’s second regional office.
In 2004, UFI opened an office in Hong Kong to provide services
to the UFI Asia/Pacific Region.
Today UFI has 29 members in the Africa /Middle-East Region and
has recognised the "UFI Approved" quality of 43 exhibitions. Tom
Beyer, UFI President, said, "We look forward to increasing our
contacts with quality exhibition organisations in the region and
including them in our UFI ranks in the future. A direct UFI
presence in the region will allow us to develop new programmes
in cooperation with our UFI member, AUIEC, the Arab Union for
International Exhibitions & Conferences."
