Conference on the Geology of the Middle East.
Exchanging Ideas and Knowledge on the Geology of the
Middle East, March 20-23, 2006, Al-Ain, U.A.E., was organized by Geology Department College of Science,
United Arab Emirate University & Arab Geologists
Association (AGA), under the Patronage of
His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al-Nahyan, Minister
of Higher Education and Chancellor of the UAE
University.
The main objective of the conference was to strengthen
the scientific cooperation among the geologists who have
interest in the geology of the Middle East. It has
included presentations aiming at a fruitful exchange
between scientists from all over the world. The
conference focus was on improving knowledge among
participants that may help establishing
multidisciplinary research programs. An exhibition of
technical equipment, literature and scientific
instruments also accommodated within the premises of the
conference venue. All the keynote speakers were from
notable international institutions.
However, the primary focus was on the geology of the
Middle East and considered outstanding research
experiences and methodologies from other regions of the
world.
